Preview: Aston Villa v Man Utd

Manchester United will face off against Aston Villa on Thursday in their Premier league game in the West Midlands at Villa Park. The match will be televised in the UK on Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Main Event with a 20:15 kick-off. The match can also be seen on MUTV. In the US at 3:15 pm on NBCSN the match will be televised. Jon Moss will be the referee.

Victor Lindelof may be a doubt for the fixture after the central defender picked up a back problem against Bournemouth. He will be assessed after Ole told us the injury was “not bad” and he “might” feature in the Midlands. If Lindelof is ruled out, then Eric Bailly will replace him. Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones are still injured. Scott McTominay could also feature in the squad.

Centre-back Tyrone Mings and Jack Grealish should fine to play, even though they sustained knocks in last weekend’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool. “Tyrone took a whack on the calf against Liverpool and Jack had tight calves, but they both came through training yesterday,” Smith told reporters during Wednesday’s pre-match media briefing. Tom Heaton, Matt Target and Wesley are all out.

Defenders Frederic Guilbert and Bjorn Engles will also be absent. Pepe Reina is expected to start in goal, with Keinan Davis likely to play as the sole striker for the opposition.
