According to SkySports Manchester United midfielder Angel Gomes has left the club. Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed earlier in the week that most likely the midfielder was going to leave the club. However the club and Solskjaer wanted the talented player to stay.
There was a deal for the youngster on the table for a long time, but apparently the numbers didn’t make sense for him and his advisors to move forward with a deal. Gomes became the youngest ever player to feature for the first team since Duncan Edwards when he made his debut in May of 2017.
He spent 14 years at Old Trafford and the 19-year-old struggled to obtain playing time under Solskjaer. Gomes made two appearances off the bench in the Premier League this season while starting three times in Europe. He was one of the highly-rated young players at the club and was destined for potential greatness in his future.
The club said in a statement: “Everybody at Manchester United would like to wish Angel the very best of luck for the future and thank him for his efforts for the club.”
Well, I am not really surprised by this story because there have been other young players who left Manchester United for other clubs like Paul Pogba when he left to go to Juventus some years ago. However the good thing is that he returned to the club that nurtured his talent under Sir Alex Ferguson. I wish him all the best along with the Manchester United fans around the world.
