Martial was magnificent

Anthony Martial had his best game so far for Manchester United since he arrived at the club since September 2015. His hattrick was extraordinary to witness. Every goal from him showed his class and composure a classy striker. The third goal where there was a give and go pass between his peer Rashford and Martial was beautiful to watch.

The Frenchman for a very long time has been woefully inconsistent. His form has been mostly poor except for his occasional great performances. The team looked more dangerous when he had the ball and he positioned himself in the box to get on the end of crosses or passes. I love the urgency that he displayed in making those forward runs into the box to score.

He should be playing at a much higher level than he has for the club. Manchester United has continued to support him and have had patience with him. I hope that this will be his breakthrough season because he has a lot of talent and he should of fulfilled his potential by now. It’s time for Martial to step consistently from now until his very last game for United in his career.

He has a chance to be a really great player if he so chooses to be. The 24-year-old striker hopefully would be at that point now where his form of scoring goals will be done on a regular basis and he wouldn’t have to be criticized for not doing so. His movement and passing on and off the ball and tracking back to win the ball after losing it sometimes would be a big improvement for his game.

If we can see a much better Martial this season and for successive campaigns after this then it would of been worth the club signing him in the first place. As a fan I’ll continue to support him, because I want to see him at his best so that he would help to enable team to be at their best. We hope that this will signify the beginning of wonderful career for Martial with Manchester United.
