Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said he has an almost full squad to choose from ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League away game against Tottenham on Friday. The match kicks-off at 3:15 pm ET in the US and at 20:15 BST UK time.
The team is healthy and this could mean that Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba may be selected after they recovered from injury issues. Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones are the players that are likely to miss the game. Both players hasn’t made it through the Reds ‘mini-preseason’ ahead of the 2019/20 season’s resumption following the coronavirus-enforced interruption.
“Yeah we’ve got a couple of injuries,” Ole told reporter Stewart Gardner. “Axel will probably be missing and Phil Jones will be missing. Apart from that I would say everyone else is available for selection.”
“Pre-season you want to give everyone a chance, everyone the same opportunity to stake a claim for the team. Everyone will play a part, we’ve got plenty of games. Hopefully we’ve got a few cup games, plus the league games and hopefully the Europa League, so we’ll be going into August sometime.”
Spurs have some injury problems in the attacking department. However, because of the coronavirus break Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, and new signing Steven Bergwijn were able to recover.
But Dele Alli was suspended for one match by the FA because of a controversial social media post in February. So he will miss out. Giovanni Lo Celso is also a doubt, after he played no part in the Norwich warm-up game. Japhet Tanganga will also be absent with a back injury.
