Manchester United won their second match against West Brom 3-1 in a club friendly at Old Trafford. Andreas Pereira scored twice and Tahith Chong scored the other goal.
United had lost 2-1 in their opening game against the Baggies as both Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes started for the first time. Fernandes scored one penalty and missed another. It was great to see Marcus Rashford back from a back injury to make his first appearance since January.
There was a friendly with Stoke City which was cancelled on Tuesday after their manager Michael O’Neill had tested positive for the coronavirus. United will play at Tottenham on June 19 before they host Sheffield United at Old Trafford on June 24.
This was a good test for us to see where we are fitness-wise as we continue preparations for the upcoming league campaign. United has an 11-game winning streak and I would like to see that continue right to the end of the season. United has an opportunity to win the Europa League and the FA Cup this season. I’m excited by our prospects of winning one or both trophies at the end of the campaign.
