The match started off with Manchester United looking positive going forward. The Reds were in control of the possession and showed confidence. United tried to break down Norwich, but they were well-organized and compact defensively. Then United got on the scoresheet when in the 27th minute Juan Mata floated in a wonderful cross for Marcus Rashford to tap the ball in at the neat post.

Andreas Pereira took a shot just outside the box, but it was easily held by keeper Tim Krul. With two minutes before half-time, Todd Cantwell got into the box and took a low drive to David De Gea’s left, but De Gea came up with a fine save. Then shortly after that it was half-time.

In the second period, we continued where we left off. In the 50th minute, we were awarded a penalty. Rashford stepped up to take it and he made it 2-0. With that insurance goal we were well and truly in control. Then a few minutes later Anthony Martial got in on the act with a third goal. Mata put in great cross for the Frenchman to head past Krul in the penalty box. The goal came in the 54th minute.

United almost had a fourth through a quick attack as Andreas Pereira raced down the right side and delivered an excellent low cross in to box, but the on rushing Brandon Williams blazed his effort over the bar from close range. Rashford shortly afterwards would leave the game, which seemed to be slight injury. Daniel James replaced him a minute before the hour mark.

Mason Greenwood came on for Andreas Pereira in the 71st minute. Greenwood would get a goal five minutes later when he slammed a hard and low shot past the keeper. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replaced Anthony Martial for Angel Gomes in the 80th minute. Christoph Zimmermann for Norwich would take a shot from the outside, but De Gea comfortably saved it.

Juan Mata had a chance to make it five, but his shot went into the side netting instead. United just kept and passed the ball around. After three minutes in extra time the referee blew the full-time whistle. It was a fantastic performance by United and we also got a clean sheet as a bonus.
