Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been dealing with a team that is woefully inconsistent and many injuries that has been a real challenge for Manchester United this season. Right now we’re in 5th place and five points behind Chelsea. So we are close to getting that 4th place.
However, the club just got more bad news on the injury front. Harry Maguire will be sidelined with a torn hip muscle. This adds to the injury list for United which continues to grow. Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay, Axel Tuanzebe and Marcos Rojo are all injured. While Eric Bailly just recently returned to training after being out for six months.
Maguire will be out for an extended amount of time. So not only do we have an injury crisis in midfield but also in defence as well. So the player that has some experience at center-back is Phil Jones. But unfortunately Jones isn’t reliable and isn’t the same player he was when Sir Alex Ferguson was there.
He has waned in his performances and isn’t a starter anymore at the club. He usually is relegated to the bench where he may come on as a substitute or he doesn’t even get picked to be on the bench. All these players will be sidelined for a while. These recent developments means that we may slid down the table because of our poor form coupled with our injuries.
We’re in the second half of the season and this is a real cause for concern. Another problem is that Ole still continues to make poor tactical decisions that contributes to us losing games. So that just adds another problem to our on the field issues. I hope that we can get these players back as soon as possible. Because we won’t have them for several weeks or a few months.
The team needs to really show some character and try to win most of their games in order to get in the top four and stay there.
