Manchester United’s FA Cup dreams are still alive after 0-0 draw at Molineux. Its quite rare that we get a clean sheet and the other positive is we forced a re-play.

The match began quietly, but Wolves had a golden opportunity 15 minutes into the match when from a corner Sergio Romero denied Matt Doherty the game’s first goal when he met Dendoncker’s flick-on with a first-time shot approximately six yards out.

In a boring game that needed something special, it wasn’t to be today for either side. Marcus Rashford almost grabbed a winner in this stalemate after he came on as a substitute in the 70 minute. However his shot was deflected onto the bar via deflection from the Wolves captain Conor Coady.

Wolves could have taken the lead through Matt Doherty’s header that beat Sergio Romero, but the goal was ruled out because of the diversion of the ball by Doherty’s leading arm.

United should have had a penalty when Brandon Williams was tripped by Dedoncker in the penalty box. But according to VAR it wasn’t a foul. But before the half-time came, United started to control the match and was positive in advancing with the ball. Andreas and James shot over the bar, while Ruben Neves’s attempt from distance was disappointing.

Nuno Espirito Santo brought on forward Raul Jimenez for the restart. Wolves started the second with more energy and purpose. Then Romero came up with a low save to deny Neto’s strike after Traore passed to him. Juan Mata also had a chance to get the lead for United when his 25-yard drive almost found the top left-hand corner. Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood came on with 20 minutes to go.

Wolves thought they had the winner when Doherty bulged that back of the net. But VAR concluded that the ball had hit his hand before hitting the back of Romero’s net. Rashford made a penalty claim, but it was denied. Wolves started to look more dangerous as the game progressed. Substitute Joao Moutinho and Neves on the field were pulling the strings for the homeside.

Jimenez also struck the bar, and in the end United earned a tough draw away to a team where we haven’t won against as yet.
