Manchester United finished top of group L at Old Trafford after a 4-0 win to defeat AZ Alkmaar. Mason Greenwood got a brace and he also drew a penalty.
Both teams were already through to the knockout phase, and had chances to get on the scoresheet in the first-half. But both teams were unable to capitalize.
However it was United that provided the goals in the match. Ashley Young opened the scoring for the Reds in the 53rd minute, after finishing off an excellent build-up with a powerful shot into the roof of the net.
Mason Greenwood then made it 2-0 with a fine finish. Greenwood then drew a penalty, and Juan Mata stepped up to convert it to make it 3-0. The fourth goal came through Greenwood again when he received the ball and quickly shot it past the keeper.
United will know their opponent for the round of 32 at Monday’s Europa League draw.
