Football website Caughtoffside.com reports that Manchester United are in pole position to sign 19-year-old teenage sensation Erling Braut Haaland. The Norwegian forward gained attention during the U-20 World Cup when he scored nine goals against Honduras. Norway ended up winning 12-0 against the Hondurans. He plays for Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg.
He has 26 goals and has provided six assists in 18 appearances for RB Salzburg. Liverpool and Bayern Munich are allegedly interested in him. It could cost as much as €100 million to sign him. United have sent a scout to watch him play which may signal their interest in signing him.
Signing a striker like him would be wonderful for any club, because his potential is unlimited. For a young player to accomplish the things he’s doing is amazing. Our firepower this season hasn’t been consistent and he could potentially change that. Solskjaer had a stint with him at Molde. It seems like he’s the biggest player to come out of Norway since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
If United is really interested in him I think that we should try to sign him as quickly as possible. He’s a sensational talent and United would be wise to make sure they secure his signature before anyone else does. We need a consistent goalscorer and he could provide the answer to our prayers.
