Brandon Williams has been extraordinary in his performances so far ever since he started games recently. His timing in tackling and reading the game is superb. His positioning and judgement is also great. He isn’t rash in his decision-making especially when it comes to tackling. Williams is good in the air and on the ground. Williams also has that youthful exuberance and good pace.

The youngster hasn’t put a foot wrong as yet. Since he started against Partizan Belgrade he has played with a lot of poise and maturity. Should Ole replace Brandon Williams with Luke Shaw when he returns from injury or Ashley Young?

I believe that Brandon should continue to play in that left-back spot. Ashley Young’s performances has been uninspiring and very inconsistent this season. But Luke Shaw by right should be allowed back into the squad in the left-back position to replace Williams. Because the only reason Luke Shaw hasn’t been playing for United is because of his long-term injury problem. Luke Shaw has been the the number one in that position this season before he got injured.

If he wasn’t injured for the last few months, Brandon most likely wouldn’t have gotten the opportunity to play, and Ashley Young would have been ahead of him in the pecking order too. So I think that Luke Shaw should get his starting position back. Shaw has good pace and puts in very good crosses into Martial and Rashford or any of his other teammates.

He loves to get forward with the ball also like Williams. He has more experience than the youngster and is a very good left-back and is a class player when he’s in form. This is going to be a tough call for Solskjaer to make. Will it be Brandon Williams, Luke Shaw or Ashley Young to start for the left-back role?

But when looking at all the attributes that Williams has compared to the other two he clearly has the edge. He certainly is the best player for the left-back position right now.
