Manchester United will be without Swedish defender Victor Lindelof for Thursday’s Europa league match against Partizan Belgrade at Old Trafford. He missed training earlier this week. He picked up a knock against Chelsea last week.
The match will kick-off at 3 pm ET in the US. Lindelof played the full 90 minutes in the 1-0 loss to Bournemouth last Saturday in which he was a doubt for that match. Ole is hoping that he’ll be back soon when asked about the defender’s condition.
“No, Victor is out, so he won’t be available,” Ole told MUTV.
“Hopefully he can make the weekend but I’m not sure.”
Eric Bailly is still two to three weeks away from a return after having knee surgery in July. He was pictured at the Aon Training Complex training earlier this week.
“They’re working on the grass, they’re working with the fitness staff,” Ole said when asked about Bailly and fellow absentee Tim Fosu-Mensah.”
“I think we can see them coming into training, especially Eric, in the next two to three weeks. Hopefully, he can join the boys and he won’t take long.”
Maybe we’ll see them in a Reserves [Under-23s] game but I think they’ve both come through the surgery well.”
Ole also stated that hopefully Luke Shaw will be back in the squad soon. Paul Pogba is also still on schedule.
“I think Paul said it himself, didn’t he?” said the boss. “It won’t be too long until he’s out of his cast and he’s going to work through the international break. Hopefully, we’ll have him back in early December.”
There’s no further information on Axel Tuanzebe, Diogo Dalot, Nemanja Matic and Angel Gomes, all of whom are still missing with injury.
“Nothing to report,” Ole stressed. “No updates from the last few weeks. Hopefully, after the international break, we can get a few more back.”
