According to the Caught Offside website, Manchester United are allegedly seeking a triple transfer deal that will include Declan Rice, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Mario Mandzukic. The club is willing to spend £210 million for all three transfers. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs reinforcements in for the January transfer window and the Summer transfer window next year. This is a project that United has been working on for a while.

All three of these players has been linked with Manchester United in the past. But Mario Mandzukic I believe has the best chance for United of a deal materializing for him. It has been touted in many media sources that Mandzukic is surplus to requirements at Juventus. I believe that its possible to obtain him during the January transfer window.

He’s competing with many other strikers including Ronaldo and he has rarely played this season or if at all for Juventus. I think that Juventus would be willing to sell him. But does he want to come to United with the state that we’re in? He and his agent may not even be interested in Old Trafford as a potential destination.

Declan Rice and Kalidou Koulibaly I think are off-limits for us. The owners or chairmen of those clubs has said in the past that they aren’t interested in selling them. They have rebuffed many offers for their players in the past. Especially now as the season is in progress I don’t think that their clubs West Ham and Napoli respectively will sell them in January.

Most teams want to make sure that they have more than enough players available in case of injury or if there is a drop in form of certain players the manager can easily replace them. Then there is also the fact that these teams are challenging for trophies in multiple competitions and they want to maintain their places in the top 4 so that they can qualify for the Champions League or in some cases the Europa League next season. So I don’t see Rice and Koulibaly coming to United in January.

Maybe in the summer we can get them. That’s not a guarantee either because their are other teams that will be vying for their signatures. In the summer United may need to look at other targets, because the targets that I just mentioned are usually too expensive to buy them anyway.

Would Rice and Koulibaly want to come to United especially if we finish the season out of the Champions League places? If we finish in 6th place or mid-table we wouldn’t be able to play in the Europa League next season. Most players want to play in the Champions League and if any of these scenarios happen I’m sure that this will be an important factor for them when making their choices on whether to stay or go to another club.

The report looks exciting for any United fan, but I honestly don’t see these transfers materializing whether its in January or in the summer next year. United should seek to target talented players with the right attributes and attitude that are inexpensive.
