Italian full-back Matteo Darmian has left for Roma in a deal worth €4 million. The defender was never able to find a home at Old Trafford. Darmian 29, joined United from Torino in 2015 and he made 28 appearances in the first season under Louis Van Gaal. He played in 18 Premier league matches the next campaign, but didn’t get into double figures after that. He featured just six times last season.

I am happy to see Darmian leave so that he can have more opportunities to play. He wasn’t the first choice full-back at United, and when he was there he just couldn’t fit in while at United. Now he wouldn’t have to sit on the bench and be bored anymore, because he knows that he would almost never play. I wish him good luck and all the best.
