Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward that he wants to sign Harry Maguire as soon as possible according to Sky Sports. But the problem is Manchester United has offered £10m less than the £80m that Leicester City currently want for the player.
So it is now up to Woodward to get the deal done. Sky Sports sources say that the English centre-back is happy at Leicester, but would like to move to Old Trafford if a deal can be agreed by the two clubs.
Manchester United is still pursuing a player where his club keeps raising the transfer fee and they obviously don’t want him to leave. This is a tactic that would discourage most clubs from pursuing players that they would like to sign.
This transfer saga just continues to get more and more frustrating to many United fans. This is a case of a story that seems to be going nowhere fast. It seems like United is going to fail in their efforts to sign Harry Maguire. Let’s hope we can find a good quality centre-back before the transfer deadline.
