According to Sky Sports, Manchester United believes that they can get a long-term contract deal done with goalkeeper David De Gea. United is offering the Spain international between £350,000 and £375,000-a-week, which would be a record deal for a goalkeeper.
United has been in discussions with the Spaniard about a new a contract extension for over a season. But the club is certain that a new deal will get done. Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said at a recent press conference that it was just a matter of “if and when” a new deal is agreed with the Spanish international.
“He will play tomorrow and hopefully we can agree with David,” Solskjaer said.
“As I’ve said a few times I think that will be up to David De Gea and the club to announce if it happens – if and when.”
De Gea is supposed to play against Leeds Utd in a friendly on Wednesday. I hope that a deal is reached between Manchester United and David De Gea, because he is the world’s best goalkeeper in spite of some mistakes he made last season. But every player in the team also made errors that cost United games too. United needs to try to get this deal done as soon as possible.
