Manchester United agrees to £80m transfer for Harry Maguire

Source: Give me Sport

According to the Express, Manchester United has reportedly agreed to an £80m deal with Leicester City for centre-back Harry Maguire. The Sun claimed that an agreement between the two clubs has been reached.

Allegedly Maguire notified the club that they could price him out of a move and he was unhappy with that. So because of that Leicester City has given him his wish of leaving the club. Manchester United has reportedly agreed to pay £60m upfront with £20m in add-ons. He is expected to arrive today in Manchester for a medical.

However, Manchester United has refuted the Sun’s claim and has stated that a fee hasn’t been agreed to as yet. Also the club said that Maguire wasn’t coming to Manchester to undergo a medical. Leicester had rejected a bid of £70m earlier last week. The Foxes wants £90m for the defender.

We are getting conflicting stories about whether a fee was agreed between the two clubs. But I would believe that if Manchester United says that they never agreed a fee for Harry Maguire I would certainly believe them over a newspaper article.

The club would of obviously announced to fans if they signed a player. This has been an on going saga and that you never know what’s really going on regarding the deal. It will be interesting to see how this story develops and how it ends.
