Sky Sports says that Manchester United has made an inquiry into signing Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina.
Southampton gave Lemina permission to speak to other clubs. He hasn’t been included in the club’s pre-season training camp in Austria. There are other clubs that is interested in the 25-year-old Gabon international. Lemina made 46 appearances last season for the Saints. He had played for Lorient, Marseille and Juventus before moving to England’s south coast. Lemina previously played for the France U20 and U21 teams.
He is described as a box to box midfielder that plays in central midfield. He can play in several positions, and has played as a winger, full-back, wing-back on the right flank and as a center-back. He is a right-footed midfielder with good technique and distribution. The Gabonese is a strong, hard-working, and dynamic player.
We’ll see where this inquiry takes Manchester United. He certainly seems like a good solid player. I love his versatility which probably is his best attribute. The Gabonese central midfielder would have to control his temper though if he wants to be successful at United. He has a reputation for that. His lack of concentration at times can be fixed as he’s is still young.
