Manchester United is interested in signing Stuttgart centre-back Ozan Kabak according to the Metro. The 19-year-old was impressive in the 2018-19 season that was a disaster for the club as they were relegated from the Bundesliga. But other clubs such a Bayern are pursuing the defender also. Sports magazine Kicker claims that Manchester United, West Ham United, AC Milan, Schalke and Monaco have also held negotiations with Kabak’s representatives.
The Turkish player has a €15 million (£13.5m) release clause in his contract at Stuttgart. Kabak transferred to Stuttgart from Galatasaray in 2019. He played for the Turkish U15, U16, U17 and U18 youth teams.
He captained the Turkish U17s at the 2017 UEFA European Under-17 Championship, and was listed as one of the 10 players to watch by UEFA. The Turkish defender also won the Super Lig in 2017-18. Kabak also won the Bundesliga Rookie of the season in 2018-19.
This is the type of player that United should be going after. I like that he has accomplished quite a lot for a young player at just the age of 19. His career so far has been quite impressive. If we are able to secure his services, then he could be a player that could have longevity at United and can be a real asset to us if he can stay healthy.
