Manchester United representatives are set to meet to complete a deal for right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The Express claims, United is interested in getting a deal done as quickly as possible. The Red Devils have been pursuing the U-21 international for several weeks. Crystal Palace rejected two offers by United for Wan-Bissaka. The last bid Manchester United made a bid of £50m. But Palace wants £60m for the player.
Ed Woodward, United’s executive vice chairman and head of corporate development Matt Judge will meet with Palace representatives to get a deal done. United wants the price for the young defender reduced. In the past reports from other sources claimed that Crystal Palace wasn’t happy with the structure of the deal. But it turns out that they want £60m for the right-back.
I am glad that United has continued to pursue a deal to sign Wan-Bissaka. He is a quality defender that is worth the time and effort to pursue. I don’t think Palace will agree to a reduced fee for the right-back. Manchester United will not only have to restructure a deal, but they would have to increase the price of the fee to £60m if various reports are to be believed. We hope as United fans a deal can be worked out.
But if the South London club is adamant that the deal be re-structured to suit them and increase the bid, I’m not so sure United can get this deal done. The United officials will have to be really skilled and convincing in order for them to sign Wan-Bissaka.
