Manchester United had a £40m bid rejected by Crystal Palace for Aaron Wan-Bissaka on Monday. But United is set to offer an improved bid for the defender. TalkSport claims that United will make a £50m offer to Crystal Palace. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants Wan-Bissaka as his first choice right-back. But Crystal Palace wants £60m from Manchester United for the 21-year-old.
We need to move on from pursuing Wan-Bissaka. Crystal Palace isn’t going to budge from the £60m offer that they want from them or any other club. He isn’t worth the money that Crystal Palace wants for him. They are other defenders in that position that we can get. For example Thomas Meunier who is 27-years-old and compared to Wan-Bissaka, who is 21. Meunier is worth £25m according to PSG. The Frenchman is a good alternative to the young Englishman.
United shouldn’t waste any time making an improved offer that Crystal Palace is going to reject anyway. Other than Meunier, we should look at other alternatives out there. I’m sure there are other right-backs out there that is cheaper to sign, but yet still is a good solid defender. It would save us money and we’ll get a more experienced player that can teach the younger defenders that will come into the squad soon.
