Manchester United makes improved offer for Matthijs de Ligt
The Playingfor90 website states that Manchester United made a much improved offer for Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt. The 19-year-old had an outstanding season for Ajax and United believe he is one of the answers to solving their defensive woes. He has leadership qualities and De Ligt can use those attributes to improve United’s defense.
Barcelona remains most likely the favourite to sign him partially because they can give him Champions League football for next season. However, United can’t offer him that for the near future. It will be interesting to see if he accepts the offer or he rejects it and decides to go to Barcelona instead.
