According to Sky Sports News Swansea winger Daniel James has agreed to personal terms with the club. But talks are continuing and United are now close to agreeing a £15m fee with the Championship club. The 21-year-old winger has one year left on his contract. He was close to joining Leeds in January, but the deal collapsed on deadline day.
The Welsh international had a medical but Leeds ended their interest in the move just hours before the transfer window expired.
Paul Pogba has been offered the captaincy by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to offer Paul Pogba a captaincy role in a bid to keep him at the club. With Antonio Valencia leaving on a free transfer at the end of the month, Pogba seems to be the next player to fill that captaincy role.
Pogba was stripped of the captaincy by Jose Mourinho, and is being linked with a move away from Old Trafford to Real Madrid. But sources close to the club said that the player isn’t for sale at any price.
I am glad that United will sign Daniel James as their first signing of the summer. Once he’s confirmed soon later in the week then United has four more players to sign. I hope that all or most of the club’s transfer business is confirmed before the team leaves for their Australasia tour on July 8. James should fit well in at United and I am excited to see him play in a United shirt.
Paul Pogba being offered the captaincy role by Solskjaer in a bid to convince him to stay and not go to Real Madrid I think could be a good decision. It could benefit the club and Pogba in the short-term and the long-term. Maybe this could force Pogba to mature more as a player and a man and finally live up to the higher standards that people and himself expects from him. His game may improve or as well it could be the opposite. Hopefully the added responsibility will help to improve the morale of the team overall.
What do think about the imminent signing of Daniel James? Do you think Pogba should be given the captaincy be Ole?
