The Express claims that Manchester United is now actively pursuing Antoine Griezmann. Journalist Miguel Rico from Mundo Deportivo claims that United ‘entered the scene.’ Griezmann was reportedly offered wages of €17 million (£14.8m) by Barca last year and United are willing to give more to convince him to move to Old Trafford instead.
United might jump the queue if they try and get a deal done before July 1. The French forward’s release clause is at €200m (£175m) but it will come down to €100m (£87m) at the start of July.
Matthijs de Ligt seems to be still interested in a move to Manchester United. There were reports that United was going to miss the chance to sign him because they failed to qualify for the Champions League. The Telegraph claims that he’s still interested in a move to United because he wants to be the face of their summer rebuild.
De Ligt was expected to join Catalan giants Barcelona and he was supposed to follow his team mate Frankie de Jong who had agreed to join Barcelona in January and will transfer to the club for £60m once the season has finished.
But according to the Telegraph that will not leave the them with enough money to sign De Ligt who would cost around £75 million.
