The Sun reports that Manchester United is interested in making a £40 million transfer bid for the Lyon striker. He has scored 14 Ligue 1 goals this season in France. The striker is 22, and he would be perfect for United’s new policy of signing young players from 18-25. He would play the role of a No.9 and he would be an ideal replacement for Romelu Lukaku who is evaluating his options on whether he wants to stay or leave Manchester United.
Manchester United should consider Dembele but I would like to see them go after Paulo Dybala who is 25 and is a much better striker than Dembele. I would like to see some one like a Mauri Icardi at Old Trafford, but I don’t know if United is interested in him. He’s 26 and is just one year older than the new policy of young players United would like to sign.
There aren’t too many quality strikers that are available. Although a return of 14 Ligue goals is a small amount of goals especially if he played the whole season with little injury. We may not be able to afford some other strikers and if Dembele is a striker that we can afford at his young age then I say buy him. Especially if for certain reasons we can’t get Mauro Icardi or Paulo Dybala.
Ole and Ed Woodward must be careful to get these summer signings right before the season starts. The right player at the right price and one that has the proper attitude so that they can succeed at the club. They must have that pride and passion that any United player must have.
I hope that the club can sign some players very soon because we don’t have much time before the start of the season. We are in a race against time so let’s see if they sign anyone within the next 2 weeks.
