The Express claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly is close to signing Kalidou Koulibaly. The Napoli defender is an important part of Solskjaer’s summer transfer plans. He has been impressive this season and is a target for other clubs.

United has had a torrid time defensively this season, and Senegalese star could be the solution to our defensive issues. The Red Devils has leaked a club record of 54 goals and I expect Ole to sign another defender. It could take a record fee to sign Koulibaly if United are to sign the him. Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti stated that he has a release clause in 2021 that’s worth €150 million and his contract doesn’t expire until 2023.

Manchester United would not be able to offer Champions League football next season to defender. So it will be interesting to see if we can convince him and his agent to come to the club next season. I don’t know if Ole and the club would want to pay the €150 million release clause in order to bring him to United.

What do you think of this story? Do you think we can sign him?
