Manchester United ended the season with a dreadful 2-0 loss to an already relegated Cardiff City. Nathaniel Mendez-Laing struck for the Bluebirds first in the 23rd minute with a penalty after Diogo Dalot fouled him. Then Josh Murphy almost got a second goal for the visitors.

Murphy assisted on the second after he ran into the penalty box and put in a cross for Mendez-Laing who was unmarked and he scored from close range. In the 74th minute Angel Gomes came on for Andreas Pareira and Antonio Valencia who made his last appearance for United replaced Diogo Dalot.

Neil Etheridge came up with some great saves for Cardiff to thwart the efforts of Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba. Bobby Reid had a powerful volley that just went wide for Cardiff. Mason Greenwood the 17-year-old striker was the only player that really played well for us today.

Ole his staff and Ed Woodward has an incredible amount of work to do during the summer. This has been a season to forget for United fans all over the world. I’m optimistic for next season because I have to and I don’t believe that it can get any worse than this.

I truly believe that we need at least 6 players into the club over the summer but it seems it would be less than that based on many media sources. A large amount of players must leave the club also. There needs to be a clear out of many players who aren’t fit to play for United anymore.

I have ran out of all the negative adjectives to describe the pitiful state of this squad. I really hope that we can at least finish in the top four next season and then within a few seasons we can really challenge Manchester City and Liverpool.

It seems like we’ll have to wait maybe two seasons more after next season to give ourselves a chance of finishing the rebuilding process. It would be painful but a necessary one if the club has to get back to the top of English football again.
