ESPN FC reports that Manchester United is interested in signing 21-year-old winger Daniel James. There are a number of clubs that are willing to sign him such as Everton, Newcastle and Leeds. If United were to sign the young winger it would have to match Swansea’s £15 million evaluation.

The Wales international has been capped twice by Wales and has 2 goals in 20 games. He has a lot of pace and can use his left or right foot and is known for his trickery as well. He is a highly regarded prospect at Swansea City. Besides playing as a winger he can play as an attacking midfielder. James is also exciting to watch.

I think that United is pursuing the right player because not only of his age but he also has huge potential. From all reports that I have read and heard of James is that he can be a big star. He just needs to be guided well and his talent honed properly by Ole and his coaching staff so that he can grow into a big success. I’m all for this type of signing because we need not only young players with energy that can inject pace and enthusiasm into our games, but young players of great pedigree too.

This is the kind of signing that we need in order to bring a fresh start to the club after the disastrous season we are having. I love the fact Ole is going to promote a few or some young players from the Reserves squad. Next season we would have a new look squad that should bring a smile to the United fans faces, because we have endured a horrible season and the fans deserves better.

If we are successful in attaining the Welsh winger then we’ll see what are the other players that Solskjaer and Ed Woodward will come up with. We just need to build a team for not just the present, but for the future that will be a team to be reckoned with.

What do you think of this potential signing?
