The Huddersfield game showed what a disgrace this United side is. Ole said: Effort and attitude wasn’t the problem, we just weren’t good enough.” He is right, but the players lack passion and pride for the club when they step unto the field. I believe that besides buying excellent young players, Ole would need to promote a few players into the first team from the youth team next season.
Players like Tim Fosu-Mensa, Axel Tuanzebe, Mason Greenwood and Tahith Chong. These are our future young stars, along with Andreas Pareira and Scott Mctominay who are already in the first team. By giving these players more opportunities to play Ole will help to re-energize the team. With the right mix of newly-promoted young players and the right type of players that we’ll bring in I think United would be a better team next season.
After this game the fact that we couldn’t beat Huddersfield a team that’s at the bottom of the table and wasn’t able to take a point from the top six for nearly all season until they played us tells the story of how far we’ve fallen as a club. This team was relegated weeks ago and we are many miles apart from Liverpool and Manchester City.
What United needs is not just high caliber players, but also ones that have the right attitude and shows pride for the Manchester United shirt. If we get that combination right then we’ll be more successful next season.
