Manchester United blew their chances of finishing in the top four. The Red Devils were only able to muster a 1-1 draw at Huddersfield. United started the game with confidence and opened the scoring through Scott McTominay in the eighth minute when he struck the ball past Huddersfield goalie Jonas Lossl. We were in control of the match and looked like we were going to go on to win the game.
In the 25th minute we had a chance to double our lead when Juan Mata missed a left-footed shot from outside the box. Then a few minutes before half-time Paul Pogba hit the bar with a header after an assist by Mata.
In the second-half, Nemanja Matic came off for Ander Herrera in the 53rd minute. Alexis Sanchez was replaced by Tahith Chong a minute later. Scott McTominay missed an attempt at goal. But the home side levelled the score in the second half when goalkeeper Lossl threw a long ball upfield, after a poor United corner and Isaac Mbenza latched on to it and he coolly stroked the ball past David De Gea.
In the 71st and 73rd minutes, Phil Jones and Marcus Rashford both had chances to score, but they missed their opportunities to put United ahead again. Diogo Dalot came on for Victor Lindelof with seven minutes to go. With two minutes to go before regulation time Paul Pogba struck the bar again with a right-footed shot from outside the box.
