According to The Busby Babe, Eric Bailly will be out for the rest of the season. So he’ll miss the last two games of the season against Huddersfield and Cardiff City. He’ll also miss the African Nations Cup for his country the Ivory Coast. Bailly has been injury prone ever since he came to the club in June of 2016.
Whenever he has been healthy he has usually played well for us. The Ivorian is a quality center-back, and if he can overcome his injuries by next season we’ll be better off along with getting two other solid center-backs.
Bailly suffered a knee ligament injury and will be out for months. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer verified that the defender will miss a prolonged period of time.
“He will need a scan tomorrow [Monday] but I don’t think it is the worst knee injury you can have.
“He will be out for the rest of the season, I don’t think we will see him again before next season.
”But he is a warrior, he played well today, he was calm, he was composed and it was just unfortunate that he had to come off.”
I hope that when Bailly does recover fully that he will not have any more injuries, especially long-term ones. Eric always gives a strong effort whenever he’s on the field for United. He’s calm, has pace, he’s athletic and he helps to solidify the backline.
